1. Booking & Payments

  1. Submit an Inquiry
    Fill out the inquiry form on our website. Our leasing team will respond within 1 business day with available room options and pricing.
  2. Select Your Room
    Review the options and confirm your preferred room with our team.
  3. Complete the Application
    Fill out the application form to proceed with your booking.
  4. Sign the Contract & Upload Documents
    Sign your lease agreement and submit the required documents (such as passport and school acceptance letter).
  5. Make Payment
    Pay the deposit and one-time amenity fee to complete booking.
  6. Receive Check-in Details
    You’re all set. We’ll send your check-in details a few days before your move-in date.

We recommend booking at least 4 months before your move-in date, especially for September and January intakes. For Fall 2026, you can book anytime from now.

While booking closer to your arrival date may limit options, we will do our best to accommodate you, even if you’re booking within a few weeks of your arrival.

  • You will need to be minimum 19 years old, and has registered letter of acceptance with any schools in Vancouver.
  • Students aged 17 to 19 will need a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

Yes. A refundable security deposit is required. A one-time amenity fee also applies.

  • Pay rent using the Resident Portal Mobile App
  • Rent payment is due on the 1st day of each month. Late fee will be applied.

    1. Home Page –> Check Balance Details –> Make a Payment
    2. Choose or Add a Payment Method:
      1. Debit Card ($12.50 service fee)
      2. Credit Card (3% service fee)
      3. Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) ($2.50 service fee)
    3. Submit Payment.

 

Rent is commonly paid through the Resident Portal Mobile App. However, we also accept bank transfers, cheques, and Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD).

2. Room Types & Amenities

We offer a range of options depending on the property:

  • Shared Bed

  • Sectioned Private Room

  • Private Room in Shared Unit

  • Studio

  • 1-Bedroom Apartment

  • 2-Bedroom Apartment

Yes. Utilities, Wi-Fi, and heating are included unless otherwise specified.

Yes. All units come fully furnished with essentials for student living.

Yes, bedding is provided and prepared before your arrival.

Monthly housekeeping is provided for common areas and shared spaces in shared apartments.

Yes, all GEC units come with in-suite laundry.

All beds at GEC use American Standard. Most murphy/bunk beds are customized, with sizes similar to Twin XL. The remaining beds are standard Double, Queen, or King sizes.

Basic kitchen appliances, utensils, cookware, and tableware are included.

3. Move-In & Move-Out

Check-in is after 4:00 p.m. Early check-in may be possible if your unit is ready. Please contact our leasing team for early check-in.

Check-out is before 11:00 a.m.

Yes, you can change your room or bed if there’s availabilities. Additional fees like extra housekeeping or request fee may apply.

You can have overnight guests if you are renting private apartments (limited number of overnight guests apply).

GEC doesn’t allow overnight guests in shared apartments.

Yes, you can leave early or cancel your booking. Please double check our cancellation policy or communicate with your leasing advisor regarding fees and procedures.

You will need to pay rent and store your belongings if you are away during the lease term.

You will need to follow our move-out procedures which will be provided upon move-in.

Yes, if the damage was caused by you. The property management team will assess the extent of the damage and determine the charge.

If you lose your key, you will need to purchase a replacement.

If you forget your key after office hours, there may be an after-hours charge for assistance.

How to Submit a Maintenance Request (video guide)

  1. Home Page –> Request Maintenance.
  2. Select preferred contact method (email or phone).
  3. Answer: “Do you allow maintenance staff to enter your unit?”
  4. Location Type:
    Unit – Inside your unit (e.g., fix toilet)
    Property – Outside your unit (e.g., fix elevator)
  5. Fill in Issue Details and Description.
  6. (Optional) Add Images
  7. Submit Request.

4. Living at GEC

Car: Yes, underground parking is available at all GEC residences for an additional fee.

Bike: There is limited bike storage at all GEC residences. Please confirm availability with the property team upon check-in.

Pets are allowed in private units at GEC Marine Gateway and GEC Pearson only.

No, smoking is not allowed at all GEC buildings.

No, subletting is only allowed with prior consent from the GEC team.

We have a limited number of units assigned for individuals with disabilities across GEC. Please contact our leasing team for more details and to discuss your specific requirements.

Yes, tenant insurance is required upon check-in. You can purchase it through our trusted vendor, Apollo, or choose any other third-party provider.

GEC prioritizes your safety. In the event of a fire, flooding, or any emergency, our properties are equipped with safety measures, including fire alarms, evacuation plans, and trained staff to ensure your well-being. We also conduct regular safety inspections and drills to maintain a secure living environment.

Some units/rooms at GEC doesn’t have openable window, please double check with your leasing advisor if you have concern.
