Booking Process
The minimum stay is 3 months.
The fees below are required to confirm your bookings (other fees may require if apply):
Room rates vary depending on the residence, accommodation type, and lease duration. Please inquire us to get a quote.
To complete your booking, please pay the amenity fee and security deposit through our online payment platform, which accepts both credit and debit cards.
For rent payments, we also accept wire transfers, pre-authorized debits (PAD), and cheques.
*Debit cards must be issued by Canadian banks.
Yes, we welcome group bookings! Educational institutions and organizations can enjoy group rates when booking with us.
We’ll match you based on your preferences. Simply fill out the roommate matching application form to let us know what you’re looking for.
If you’re bookings with your friends, let us know and we’ll do our best to place you in the same unit or on the same floor.
We recommend booking at least 4 months in advance to ensure availability. While booking closer to your arrival date may limit options, we will do our best to accommodate you, even if you’re booking within a few weeks of your arrival.
Yes, all shared units are single-gender only.
A Sectioned Private Bedroom is a partitioned space separated from the living room while sharing common areas with other housemates. There is a gap between the partition wall and the ceiling.
Before Move-in
We can change your move-in date if there’s availability. Check-in time is 4pm, please check with your leasing advisor if you can do early check-in on that date.
Unfortunately, GEC doesn’t provide airport pickup service. However, we do partner with local vendor who provides airport pickup service, you can find it at Beaton’s Meet and Greet.
Unfortunately, we don’t provide meal option at this time. Meal prep services are really popular among students in Vancouver, you can find at HelloFresh.
Most GEC residences provide fully furnished apartments with beddings and kitchen supplies. However, you will still need to bring your own towels, personal hygiene products, clothing, stationeries and etc.
Please send us the visa refusal letter so that we can cancel your booking and provide you with the cancellation policy.
After Move-in
Yes, you can change your room or bed if there’s availabilities. Additional fees like extra housekeeping or request fee may apply.
You can have overnight guests if you are renting private apartments (limited number of overnight guests apply).
GEC doesn’t allow overnight guests in shared apartments.
Yes, you can leave early or cancel your booking. Please double check our cancellation policy or communicate with your leasing advisor regarding fees and procedures.
You will need to pay rent and store your belongings if you are away during the lease term.
You will need to follow our move-out procedures which will be provided upon move-in.

Yes, if the damage was caused by you. The property management team will assess the extent of the damage and determine the charge.
If you lose your key, you will need to purchase a replacement.
If you forget your key after office hours, there may be an after-hours charge for assistance.
Students can submit a maintenance request form, which will be provided upon move-in.
General Questions
Car: Yes, underground parking is available at all GEC residences for an additional fee.
Bike: There is limited bike storage at all GEC residences. Please confirm availability with the property team upon check-in.
To accommodate everyone’s allergies and preferences, pets are not allowed in shared apartments. However, pets are permitted in select private apartments. Please contact us if you have a furry (or scaly) friend you’d like to bring along.
Yes! All our apartments are move-in ready, and we include utilities, furnishings, and many other amenities. Utilities are included, subject to normal and reasonable consumption.
No, smoking is not allowed at all GEC buildings.
No, subletting is only allowed with prior consent from the GEC team.
Yes, all GEC units come with in-suite laundry.
Amenities fee is not refundable. Deposit and rent payment is refundable if a cancellation notice is given 60 days prior to lease start date.
Please contact our leasing team for a detailed cancellation policy.
A late fee will be applied to overdue payments. If rent is not received after a certain period, an eviction notice may be issued.
We have a limited number of units assigned for individuals with disabilities across GEC. Please contact our leasing team for more details and to discuss your specific requirements.
Yes, tenant insurance is required upon check-in. You can purchase it through our trusted vendor, Apollo, or choose any other third-party provider.
Yes, we provide beddings at GEC Viva, Pearson, Burnaby Heights, and Marine Gateway locations.
GEC prioritizes your safety. In the event of a fire, flooding, or any emergency, our properties are equipped with safety measures, including fire alarms, evacuation plans, and trained staff to ensure your well-being. We also conduct regular safety inspections and drills to maintain a secure living environment.
All beds at GEC use American Standard. Most murphy/bunk beds are customized, with sizes similar to Twin XL. The remaining beds are standard Double, Queen, or King sizes.
Some units/rooms at GEC doesn’t have openable window, please double check with your leasing advisor if you have concern.
Yes, we offer the housekeeping service (except for Marine Gateway) every 10 days. Our team will clean your unit’s common areas, including the living room, kitchen, hallway, and washroom. For more details, please visit GEC Living Professional Housekeeping.
